Hands on in Hamworthy park
Meet on Wednesday Mornings at 9.30am by The Park Cafe for informal gardening activities, litter picking and general maintenance.
Meet like-minded people who enjoy gardening and want to make a practical difference in our local community, and make new friends.
Events and fundraising
All through the summer, and even in the winter, we run a variety of fundraising events. We always need willing hands and strong arms, not to mention transport and a variety of other skills. If you want to help out, get in touch.

Micro-Volunteering
Join the many people who do a little bit of something to help keep the park looking great without waiting for an organised event. From picking up litter while out walking your dog, to sending in your favourite park pics - everything helps!
We're looking for people who would like to use their skills to do some good in the community. At the moment we're looking for some help in these areas, but if you have an idea that you would like to run with please get in touch and we'll do our best to support you.
- Photography. Amateur or Professional photographers who can help us with beautiful landscape images of the park, or things happening in the park for our annual calendar, website and ongoing marketing.
- Walk leaders. We are hoping to extend our walking for health scheme within the park. We're looking for volunteer(s) who could lead this program on a weekly basis in the park. Training is available.
- Blog contributors. We're looking for people who love to write and share their skills or knowledge.
Becoming a Friend of Hamworthy Park
We encourage all park users to become Members of Friends of Hamworthy Park CIO. Membership is particularly important now that we have gained charitable status. FOHP could not exist in its present form without its Members. So we extend a big thank-you to everyone.
We intend to hold two public meetings each year. One in the Spring and one in the Autumn. Check the website for dates. Members will be notified of these events by email. You can join the Friends of Hamworthy Park by filling in the form on the contact page.
